ITS PIPETECH: THIS COURSE IS A MUST FOR EVERYONE

Since our workers have completed the CCCA course they have become more aware of Indigenous issues and the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers. I think this course is a must for everyone."

ITS PipeTech have offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth and provide pipeline rehabilitation solutions to water and wastewater industry, local governments and industrial markets. ITS PipeTech successfully operate and deliver major projects and maintenance works throughout all states and regions of Australia.

CCCA have been working with ITS PipeTech to deliver cultural competence training to their project managers Australia wide. Following a successful pilot ITS PipeTech have committed to train all staff in CCCA's online foundation training by 2017.

Emma Bentton leads the programme; "ITS PipeTech has been using the Centre for Cultural Competence Australia's online training programme for nearly 12 months.  The CCCA course provides ITS PipeTech workers, many of whom were not born or did not grow up in Australia, with a base line understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. As we operate throughout Australia we have created a pathway of learning for our employees that uses CCCA's foundation level course in Aboriginal Cultural Education as a precursor to the additional localised face-to-face training we run specific to each area. Since our workers have completed the CCCA course they have become more aware of Indigenous issues and the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers. I think this course is a must for everyone."
