The New South Wales Reconciliation Council (NSWRC) is the peak representative body for reconciliation in New South Wales. Show more
They work alongside government agencies, NGOs and corporate partners to continue the work started by the Reconciliation Committee. The NSWRC is an independent, not‐for‐profit and non‐partisan organisation. Membership is made up of Reconciliation Groups and individuals across NSW – Indigenous and non‐Indigenous people working together to advance reconciliation in their communities. One of their key programmes includes the Schools Reconciliation Challenge (SRC) which is an annual art and writing competition for young people in NSW in years 5 to 9. The program targets educational institutions across NSW, providing educators with comprehensive teaching resources and activities around reconciliation. The Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service Co-operative Limited (VALS) was established as a community controlled Co-operative Society in 1973. VALS plays an important role in providing referrals, advice/information, duty work or case work assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the State of Victoria.

The Recognition and Settlement Agreement between the Dja Dja Wurrung people and the State of Victoria was celebrated at Yepenya on 15 November 2013. The Recognition Statement signed at the Ceremony, recognised the Dja Dja Wurrung as the Traditional Owners of Central Victoria and provides the context for what was negotiated in the Agreement.
